This is what our kitchen looked like when we first looked at this house in 2000. Notice the speckled glass ceiling tiles in the ceiling, not to mention the blue
Formica and oak cabinets. The floors were
vinyl and a small table filled the area between the kitchen and family room. No good.

Also pay attention to that blue carpet in the dining room!

We updated the kitchen when we first moved in with hardwood
flooring, white cabinets and tile
counter tops, as well as a
porcelain sink and new facets. We also got all new appliances. We loved this look for nine years. We call the area between the kitchen and family room our "waiting room" and it is where most people gather while dinner is being prepared.

I love it! Those new light fixtures look cool. I remember the sick speckled lighting from when you first got it, that was hilarous!
fab-a-lous! No one can transform a room like you. I love how everything turned out. I didn't know you the lighter hardwood had a discoloration---what was it from? I want the people who owned it before to see it now!
Looks beautiful!!!
I absolutely HEART your new kitchen.
My breakfast came back up in my mouth a little at the sight of those first few pictures.
I love "then and now" pictures. Looks good! Now I know what you've been up to all summer :)
Look wonderful Annie! I would love to come see it in person soon.
I love it....The granite, stainless appliances and dark hardwood floor are the exact choices I would make. My living room floor is the darker wood, my counters are the exact pattern and color as your granite only in the more affordable (cheap)formica and 1 out of 3 appliances are stainless. Patience. "All in good time my pretty."
I think I need a road trip to see it. I could pick up Lee, Lindsey and Jamie on my way.
What an amazing transformation! You are extremely talented!
I don't know i kinda liked that nostalgic look the old kitchen had. Just wait it will be in style in a couple of years.
How funny, I never saw it w/ the blue carpet & countertops! I think the first time I came up to see the house the work had already begun. I love how it is now!
Yikes Stripes! There's nothing like remodeling an old home and making it yours!
